On March 7-8, 1949, 'Waikiki Beach' set a light-plane, nonstop distance record by flying from Honolulu, Hawaii to Teterboro, New Jersey. That is a distance of 4215 nautical miles, which is 315 nm more than the range of Concorde in the background! This is the fourth Bonanza built and is on display at the incredible NASM Udvar-Hazy Center. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
