The MiG-19 was the first Soviet production fighter capable of supersonic speed in level flight. The S-version was equipped with a long range 'Svod' navigation receiver, 30 mm canon and hardpoints uder the wings for bombs or rockets. This example was obtained from the 457th Technical Evaluation Squadron bases at Nellis AFB, NV and went on display at the National Museum of the USAF in Oct. 94. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
