Converted from the prototype BAe 146 to be a research aircraft. Here is a view looking rearwards to the toilet. Normal airline seats have been replaced by equipment racks and seats with 4 point harnesses for the operators. Even the overhead bins have been removed.

Converted from the 146 prototype to be a research aircraft. This is not the lightweight toilet mod but is the dropsonde launcher tube just in front of the rear service door with the sonde storage lockers in front and seats for the operators to launch the sondes.

Originally the BAe 146 prototype, it has now been converted to a research aircraft to take over the duties from Hercules W2 XV208 (Snoopy). It is parked outside BAE Regional Aircraft to be shown to the workforce who carried out a lot of work for and during the conversion.

The first-built 146 has now been converted into an atmospheric research aircfraft and is pictured here lining up on rw27 after taking part in the static display at a super RIAT 2012. Note the extra fairing on the port side and the two underwing sensor racks.
