One of the very last days in the existence of this Aeroclub. The excavators are literally moving in to the hangars in order to construct a main avenue to the city; and this airport will be sacrificed unfortunately.

Sadly these planes are urgently required to take a hike as the Aeroclube de Pernambuco is closing. Road construction requires this airfield to close after 70 years of operation, and the construction machines have approached this hangar within 200 meters. Sad, really.

Comfy looking double seater. Unfortunately, this was one of the last days this airfield was open as it closed down shortly after due to a road construction! They had been flying there for over 70 years, but alas; it was deemed more important to connect Boa Viagem better with the rest of Recife.
