Built by Fokker in Amsterdam and first flown on 16 March 1964, this Starfighter logged 1682 flying hours in the Luftwaffe. It is kept by JG 71 'Richthofen' at Wittmund. Unfortunately it has transparent panels on the wing and tail.

The F-4's 50th birthday from first flight was on 27 May 2008.

Formerly C4K-134 of the Spanish air force, this Buchon was modified to look like a Daimler-Benz DB 605-powered Bf 109G. It is kept by JG 71 'Richthofen' and according to what I gathered it is painted as a Bf 109F of II/JG 2 'Richthofen', based at Abbeville, France in the second half of 1941.

Despite the superbly arranged variety of special scheme F-4s, the best efforts of the Phantom Pharewell photoday organisers could not overcome the weather. This machine made its last flight at the show next day, marking the end of 40 years of the F-4 with the Luftwaffe, and will be preserved on the Wittmund gate

Then preserved at Wittmund. The special livery was for the retirement of the F-4 over at Rheine - Hopsten. Aircraft since scrapped.

West Germany's first jet fighter unit, JG 71 was formed in 1959 and equipped with the Canadian-built Sabre. In 1961 the wing was named 'Richthofen' and moved from Ahlhorn to Wittmund.

Former Israeli Skyhawk, with lengthened tailpipe to reduce vulnerability from heat-seeking missiles, serving as a target tug at Wittmund.
