This former RAF aircraft is one of twenty-nine C-130's stored by Lockheed-Martin at Georgetown, Delaware. Seven of the group are ex RAAF while the remainder are ex RAF. While some, or all of the RAAF C-130's may have escaped the scrapman, all of the RAF aircraft were scrapped.

Twenty-nine ex RAF and RAAF C-130's are stored by Lockheed Martin on an abandoned runway at GED. These aircraft were traded in for newer model C-130J's. Most, if not all, of the RAF C-130's were scrapped and I believe that most of the RAAF aircraft departed to new owners. Note the slot running down the middle of the runway. It was part of a catapult system used to test escape system components in the 1960's.

Delivered to the RAF in November 1967 and served 24 Squadron at Lyneham from January 1968. Displayed at the RAF 50th anniversary show at Abingdon wearing the initial camouflage scheme with white cockpit roof. RAF Air Support Command titling on forward fuselage.

Arriving for the Air Tattoo in the original and attractive sand camouflage scheme. Later modified to a C.3, and employed for fatigue testing at Cambridge from 2002

Delivered to the RAF in February 1968. Displayed at the Queens Silver Jubilee air show at RAF Finningley wearing the markings of No. 47 Squadron on its forward fuselage.
