Even after all this time quite a few Skywarriors at AMARG have still managed to dodge a date with the axeman. The foremost example in this row arrived at the boneyard during Jan. 71 and has been stored with the PCN/Inventory No. AN2A0060

146446 was with USN Squadron VAP-61 at the time of the photo. The apparent white markings on the rear fuselage are mounts for the rocket-assisted take-off boosters being picking out by the sun against the shaded fuselage side. There are six in all, the bottom one in full shadow. 146446 later flew with Thunderbird Aviation and Hughes as N161TB under contract to the Navy. In 2000 it was placed in storage at Davis-Monthan.

Built as an A3D-2P in 1960, this RA-3B was used in conjunction with Patriot missile tests from 1978, becoming N571HA. It was stored at Mojave in 1998, and brought to the Castle museum in 2010.
