1946-built Silvaire attending the 2009 old timers rally at Schaffen-Diest

Built in 1946, the Certificate of Airworthiness on this aircraft expired in 2004 and it seen here, literally on the scrapheap. Previously N1362K, it had been cancelled following a landing accident near Marlborough on 9th April 2004 but remarkably it was later rebuilt. An Aeronca is behind it.

This aircraft was cancelled from the US register as long ago as August 1990. It is stored in a dark corner of a hangar at Sturgate. The rest of this mid 1940s built aircraft is also present and hopefully it will be restored one day. The light levels were so low that I did not expect any of the several shots I took to be useable, but this one was. G-BSOE has been allocated to the airframe
