Originally Tarom's YR-IRB registered in 4.73. Bought by TAA in 1998 but in store by the time of this photo and can be seen from wreckage on Google Earth to have been destroyed by fire (apparently exploded during scrapping, some time prior to 2007)

Probably staging through to an African destination, this Il-62 was delivered in 4.80 and wfu just 12 years later, hanging on a couple of years more before being broken up at PRG in 12.94

First registered 22.8.89 to Interflug as DDR-SEZ. What a simply superb looking machine

Undoubtedly a star visitor for Heathrow, here on a rare governmental mission... delivered 6.84 and returned to Russia by 9.91 becoming RA-86931 after a couple of years in store at DME; last noted wfu at Khabarovsk in the mid-Nineties

The Ilyushin 62 must surely be one of the most beautiful jetliners on the planet. The cyrillic Rossiya titles on this aircraft, taxiing down the sloping exit of Amsterdam's S-apron, indicate that it belongs to Russia's governmental transport fleet (Rossiya State Transport Company).

During the early 1990s Tarom mostly used Tupolev 154's or brand new and boring B737s on their flights into Amsterdam, but every now and then a magnificent Ilyushin 62 could still be seen taking off from runway 24.

Withdrawn from use by Interflug in November 1989 and then used as an eye-catcher at the furniture store "Prima Möbel" in Alach near Erfurt. It was nice to see such a large aircraft in the middle of nothing but farmlands. Unfortunately it was completely broken up in September 1999.
