G-ATZY first registered 14/10/1966 and now belongs to the Prestwick Flight Centre Ltd

Even back in 1992 Zulu Yankee was showing her age, but in spite of the faded paint, worn carpets and ancient radio she flew well. She was the solo consolidation aeroplane that hammered the circuit for hours on end in the hands of clumsy and incompetent pilots like me. So long as you could get her to within a few feet of the runway and pointing in roughly the right direction ZY could get us both safely back on the ground. Now gone to the great scrap yard in the sky I have very fond memories of this little aeroplane.

This is a composite of several aircraft of which G-AVAA is the most significant.G-AVAA was written off in an accident in April 1996 and the registration cancelled. The rear section was mated with an unidentified front section (the join is just visible?) and donated to the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum/Aeroventure where it is now on display.

Appears to be being used as a source of spares and was cancelled by 2017

I had photographed this one two years earlier and commented that it looked abandoned. It is even more so now, minus its engine and upended. Built in 1967, its days must surely be numbered

It does not look as though this mould streaked aircraft has moved since I last photographed it in 2008. Built in 1967, the certificate of airworthiness expired in 2008.
