Developed to meet army AOP specification A.2/45 in competition with the Heston J.S.6. The first prototype was the Auster M with a Gipsy Major engine. This is the second aircraft, the Model N, and is powered by a more powerful Gipsy Queen. In the end the Army selected the Auster AOP.6 to fulfil its needs. Photo from: Imperial War Museums
