The interior of the aircraft was used as a restaurant, which was not air conditioned. There was an adjoining small building with a restaurant that was air conditioned and that's where we had our lunch.

The aircraft had been fitted out as a restaurant but the interior has been totally stripped out as it is destined to be dumped into the ocean for use as a diving attraction. May have already happened.

Former WinAir YS-11 was stripped of useful spares at SXM and put on a barge for the short trip to Philipsburg where she is now part of a restaurant. Two sandwiches and two Heineken beers for $10...the cheapest meal of the week! While the aircraft survived Hurricane Irma in September 2017, the attached restaurant was destroyed.

A longtime fixture in Phillipsburg, St. Maarten, this YS-11 survived Hurricane Irma with little apparent damage. Unfortunately, the restaurant building attached to it was totally destroyed.
