In 1936 the Portuguese Air Force ordered 4 Hinds, 2 in light bomber configuration and 2 as dual control trainers. They were delivered in July 1937. They were powered by a 640 hp Rolls-Royce Kestrel V. At least one of them was still airworthy in 1944. Serial 407 seen here is one of the light bombers with a gun mount in the observer's cockpit.
