The Avro 504L was originally a seaplane - note the added tailfin. This was one of six such aircraft constructed from spares by A.V. Roe at Hamble in 1919. G-EANB sold to Sweden as S-IAA and based in remote Porjus on behalf of a hydropower project. The logo still visible on the fin is associated with this. Part of the Imperial Gift, H2988 was operated by New Zealand Flying School. In 1924 the school was taken over by the New Zealand Permanent Air Force but H2988 is believed to have been burnt about this time.
