Called the 'Streamline Gunbus', the FB.9 was a development of the FB.5 Gunbus. 95 examples were built for the Royal Flying Corps by Vickers and 24 by Darracq, a French car manufacturer. Seven of the latter, including 7826, were used operationally by No 11 Sqn in the summer of 1916, fighting in the Battle of the Somme. Otherwise the FB.9 was used as a trainer.
