Delivered new to JAL on 20 February 1974. Acquired by Evergreen International Airlines on 4 October 1990, registered as N477EV, and converted to a 747-SRF. To United Parcel Service in January 1994 with registration N688UP. Back to Evergreen on 18 February 1997 and reregistered as N477EV. Put in storage in 2007 and scrapped in 2011.

Delivered to JAL as JA8124 in 1974. To American International Airways as N705CK in 1994 and used for parts at Oscoda, MI. Last noted in 1997. Scrapped.

Hiding in a remote corner of the airport were several airframes that had been used for various tests. This Former Japan Airlines Short Range Boeing 747 was an interesting frame as it had been pressurized so many times. Because of all the Short range domestic flights in Japan during its life span, 1973-1988. It was then operated as JA8118.

Two JAL short range high density 747SR-46's at Haneda in 1989 with JA8121 taxying at the rear. It served the airline from new in 03.74 until sale to UPS in 05.90 as N680UP.
