The RCAF evaluated the Continental R-670 powered M-62B (PT-23) and the Ranger powered M-62 (PT-19) before selecting the Ranger-engined aircraft for production by Fleet Aircraft as the Cornell. Both versions were offered to Canada with cockpit canopies. NX28692 was sold by Fairchild as NC28692 and later N28692. It was cancelled from the register in 1960.
