Built for the US Navy as PV-1 Bu.34709, to the RCAF as 2244 in 1943 and N1206 in 1954. Bought by Howard Aero Services and converted to a Super Ventura. To N5034F operated by the Firestone Rubber Company in 1961 and converted to a Howard 400. To N1970H in 1968, N197RD in 1969, N100LR in 1974 and YV-183CP in 1977. Stored at Bogota by 1992 and later transferred to the Colombian Air Force Museum and painted as 'FAC 654'.

Very cool Howard 400 (converted L-18 Lodestar) at the Museo Aeroespacial Colombiano, which was still located at Bogotá International Airport then. This aircraft is ex YV-183CP, last operated by ATRAMAR - Aerotransporte del Mar, and it never served with the FAC. It was wfu or seized in 1992 and stored at Bogotá, last seen as such in 1997. It was later transferred to the museum and restored to represent the Presidential L-18 Lodestar. The real FAC654 was c/n 18-2327. The museum and its aircraft were moved to Briceño in the Cundinamarca district between Oct 2015 and Aug 2017.
