With serial almost so faded that it's unreadable, one of the world's last active Phantoms with the resident 338 Mira.

This F-4E was newly delivered in a Foreign Military Sales program (serial 72-1518), Peace Icarus I, to Greece in July 1974. Here it is seen in its original air defense blue colour scheme. It was badly weathered already and the aircraft later received the grey camouflage jacket. In 2023 this Phantom was still active with the Greek Air Force, facing retirement, after over 50 years of service, in the near future

FMS serial 72-1518. Delivered to the Hellenic Air Force as an F-4E. Modified to an F-4E AUP around 2000. Departing from RIAT. It returned about 90 minutes later as it was not allowed into French airspace. It finally departed later in the day.

Some realy good flying by those Greek AF Phantom pilots, as the speed of the Skyvan photoship is almost identical to their stall speed....with a little help of the APC folks !
