The weather was terrible when this F-16A left Gilze-Rijen after it had received some modifications here. J-634 crashed a few months later, on 28 May 1984, near Linz in Germany, less than one year after it had been delivered to the RNLAF.

This Block 15F Fighting Falcon was built by Fokker (as their construction number L-138) and carried Foreign Military Sales serial 80-3634. The aircraft made its first flight on 20 May 1983, was deliverd to the Royal Netherlands Air Force on 30 June 1983 and served from that moment 311 squadron. In March 1984 it was transferred to 306 squadron. Unfortunately, its pilot was killed in a tragic crash near Linz, Germany on 28 May 1984.
