Fairchild Husky CF-EIL was rebuilt by Saunders Aircraft at Gimli, Manitoba in the mid-1970s with a 550 HP Alvis Leonides 503/8 engine and an 11 foot de Haviland three bladed propeller for Harrison Airways of Vancouver. It was delivered at Vancouver Airport (by air or road?) in the spring of 1975 and "EIL" was visible on the tail. It was painted all-white with the registration C-GCYV applied soon after this photo was taken. The aircraft never entered service and was later acquired by the Western Canada Aviation Museum in Winnipeg after Harrison Airways went bankrupt.

Even with an Alvis Leonides engine of 550HP, the Husky could not compete with the deHavilland Beaver and few were built. The rear door was a very good idea though.
