This 1936-built Hornet Moth was the first aircraft to land at Manchester's new but incomplete airport at Ringway on 17 May 1937. It flew back in 2012 on the 75th anniversary of that event, wearing its wartime RAF serial W9385, code letters and camouflage.

This 1936-built Hornet Moth was the first aircraft to land at Manchester's new but incomplete airport at Ringway on 17 May 1937. It flew back in 2012 on the 75th anniversary of that event, wearing its wartime RAF serial W9385, code letters and camouflage.

This was the first aircraft to land at Ringway on 17 May 1937, when owned by Fairey Aviation, it arrived from Heathrow. It returned to the airport on the 50th anniversary of commercial operations and is parked in front of the 1962-built Terminal 1.
