Qatar ordered in the 1970s twelve Westland Mk2 and Mk3 Commando's. One was donated to Sierra Leone, while is is believed currently some six to eight are still operational. The helicopters will be retired in 2020. The Sea King variants are assigned to 8sq for the Mk3s (Anti-Surface Vessel Squadron) and 9sq for the Mk2s (No. 9 Multi-Role Squadron)
