Already covered very well here at AirHistory, so let me just add a recent picture. Her last real identity was N65371 and before that LN-KLV.

Delivered to the USAAF as C-53 41-20058 in 1941. To the US War Department as NX34989 in 1942, DDL as OY-DCA in 1945, merged into SAS in 1948 and reregistered as OY-KLE in 1950. To Kar Air as OH-VKA in 1954, Norfly as LN-KLV in 1970 and to N65371 in 1976. Preserved at Frankfurt by 1978 then to Munich in 1993.

The real, historically significant HB-IRN is now on display at Lucerne. This is a former USAAF frame 41-20058 that later went on to fly in Scandinavian with DDL Danish Air Lines (OY-DCA), SAS (OY-KLE), Kar-Air (OH-KVA) and Nor-Fly (LN-KLV). It was sold as N65371. After retirement, from 1976 the plane was displayed on the viewing terrace at Frankfurt in 1989 as N569R, it was moved to the Historic Aeroplane collection at MUC in 1993.

Falsely painted as HB-IRN (c/n 33393), but is in fact ex N65371 and Nor-Fly LN-KLV before that.

The "N" was later removed (see here). Ex LN-KLV Nor-Fly. Purchased by a private individual early August 1976 and displayed on the spectators roof terrace. So it couldn't have long been there when I took this shot. When that spectators terrace closed down the aircraft was moved to the Visitors Park at Munich Airport and was painted as HB-IRN. Still there as of 2019. I took a photo of this aircraft still in active service as LN-KLV in July 1975 (see here).

Ex USAAF C-53B 41-20058 (one of only 8 with this designation). Postwar served DDL as OY-DCA and SAS as OY-KLE. OH-VKA with Kar-Air from January 1954 until February 1970. Now preserved as "HB-IRN" at Munich Airport.

At the Visitors Hill at MUC, a modern CRJ is framed with two great classic airliners, and opposing WWII workhorses, the Ju 52 and DC-3. Originally 41-2005, a rare C-53B, this aircraft served with several airlines in Scandinavia after the war (lastly with Nor-Fly as LN-KLV), but never with Swissair. Its last real registration was N65371. The real HB-IRN still exists in Lucerne.
