Still wearing its emergency medical services colour scheme, this NOTAR became a survey platform at the beginning of 2010. Part of the ADLARES (ADvanced LAser REmote Sensors) CHARM (CH4 Airborne Remote Monitoring, CH4 for methane) detection system can be seen at the back of the fuselage. Apparently, transmission system operator OGE (Open Grid Europe GmbH) is at least a major client.

CHARM is a new laser-based technology developed jointly by Adlares and DLR (German Aerospace Centre) to remotely detect gas emissions, e.g. leaks in pipelines or over widely dispersed areas such as methane escaping from landfills.
