This Hind-D was originally delivered to the NVA as 424 in 1981. After German reunification it was given the serial 9604 but eventually sold to Hungary for spares. It is now part of the collection at this aeronautical engineering college in the suburbs of Budapest. In truth, the frame is something of a composite; the tail boom is from 9605/433 (these serials are still visible and accounts for the fact that this frame is often listed incorrectly), the right side weapons pylon is from 9627/434 and the left side pylon from 9602/396.

This Mi-24 was delivered to the Nationale Volksarmee in June 1981. The attack helicopter was assigned to Kampfhubschraubergeschwader (KHG) 3 "Ferdinand von Schill" and based at Cottbus. The Hind was transferred to the HEER on 3 October 1990 as 9604.
