Arrived in Australia in 1972 as warbird project but by 1975 was an exhibit at the Camden Museum of Aviation. Restoration to flying condition started in 1983 and it flew in 1988 as VH-XVI. Suffered an engine problem and was grounded. Sold in the US in 1998. Another Spitfire subsequently became VH-XVI.
