This Mi-17 was delivered in 1994 to Macedonia as Z3-HHF and reregistered VAM-304 in Feb'04. It was delivered to Letacke Opravovne facility in Trencin, Slovakia and refurbished and transformed into VIP variant for transporting the President and other high-ranking officials. The HIP crashed on 12 Jan'08 near the village of Blace, some fifteen miles southeast of Macedonia's capital Skopje. The accident happened in foggy conditions, killing all eleven people on board. The helicopter was on its return from a mission over Bosnia, where Macedonia contributed troops to a peace keeping force.
