The Fw44 was a 1930's biplane, intended for the training and recreational markets. D-2914 seems to have been built in March 1934 and belonged to the Deutschen Luftsportverbandes (DLV) in Bremen. The DLV was set up in March 1933 by the Nazis, to establish a uniform basis for the training of (then civillian) pilots for the future Luftwaffe.
