Second DC-3 in Chile, from 1946, ex 45-990. Not a paramilitary aircraft - the circular LAN logo was never the air force roundel. Photographed by the globetrotting Sophie Petersen probably in 1952 at 'Balmacedas'. Balmaceda was a stop on the Santiago - Punta Arenas route. We understand that the airfield was once called Leonor, but it is assumed to be the same location as modern SCBA. CC-CLL to CC-CLDH in 1957 and to CC-CBN in 1963. Withdrawn in 1976. Note that this is not construction number 26794/15349, which was CC-CLL in the 1990s. Photo by: Sophie Petersen / National Museum of Denmark
