Formerly serving UTA in West Africa and the Pacific as F-BNRA, this aircraft was leased to Air Afrique between September 1975 and April 1976 and again from November 1976 to January 1977. In November 1977 it joined the French Air Force with callsign F-RAFH (my 1990 photo at LHR #738375). W/o as HK-3932X in 2001

First delivered to UTA as F-BNRA in 1966 and leased to Air Afrique as TU-TXQ for three months in late 1976, in December 1977 this Caravelle joined the French AF and served ET 1/60 GLAM and ET 3/60 using callsign F-RAFH. In 1988 it was sold to LAS - Lineas Aereas Suramericanas as HK-3932X "NAPOLEON B". While operating on a cargo flight from Bogotá to Mitú on 31st January 2001, it crash landed five miles short of El Yopal airport in Colombia after attempting an emergency landing with gear retracted.

Delivered new to UTA- Union de Transports Aeriens in January 1966. In July '76 over to Air Afrique (TU-TXQ). In December '77 over to l'Armée de l'Air/ French Airforce. In June '94 to Líneas Aéreas Suramericanas (HK-3932X). Crashed on approach at El Yopal, Colombia, 31 January 2001.

Used at this time by GLAM 01/60 (Government Transport unit); Has been sold in 1994 to Lineas Aereas Suramericanas and became HK-3932X; Withdrawn from use in 1999 and scrapped in Bogota, Colombia in 2001.

Seen here operating a VIP flight, this Caravelle was later sold to Líneas Aéreas Suramericanas in Colombia as HK-3932X. It crashed on 31 January 2001 on approach to El Yopal Airport, with three fatalities.

UTA used this Caravelle from Noumea , New Caledonia, on regional South Pacific services including to Sydney. It was the first use and only use of the aircraft type on regular services into Australia until Air Caledonia operated them over a similar network in the 1980s.
