This old DC-4, initially built for the USAAF and after a long career, was bought from Invicta by Spantax in August 1967 presumably for parts as it was never painted in BX colors and was sold the same month to become the main piece of Aerolandia Bar in the vicinity of San Pablo airport.

Lloyd International Colors

Here in operations with Independent Air Transport having been imported from the USA in November 1957. Subsequently served with eight other British operators until acquired for spares by Spantax in 1967.

G-APID was flown by a long line of UK airlines in the 10 years it graced the UK register. Trans Meridian operated it under lease from Trans-World Leasing. -APID ended up as snack bar at Seville, Spain, in 1967 but has since been scrapped.
