Pictured during the day the type was retired from service within the Royal Netherlands Navy. 283 was delivered to the Dutch Navy on 7 Apr'81 as a SH-14B, later converted to SH-14D and served 860sq until its retirement on 9 Sep'11. The Lynx is preserved at the National Military Museum in Soesterberg since Apr'13. 283 was furnished with a cartoon "That's all Folks" markings", finish flags, mission marks, and names of the final pilots, mechanics, Vessel Security Officers (VSO), Vessel Deck Officers (VDO) and Tactical Coordinators (TACCO). Having already been AOG (generator/alternator failure) for 4 days, a crew was sent out today again to fix it. While they did manage to fix that problem, at start-up a hydraulics issue surfaced, resulting in an extended stay at the airport.
