About to land after a multi-sector ferry flight from its former home in Argentina.

1939 built DC-3-201A N4565L of the Hibernian Dakota Flight photographed in flight between Eindhoven and Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, on 7th July 1985 during the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the type's first flight. The aircraft had once served as a 13-seat executive aircraft with the Ford Motor Co. in Argentina. Delivered to Eastern as NC21744 in 1939. Reregistered as N21744 after 1948. To N80C in 1953, N51D, N512 in 1958, N129H, LV-PCV then LV-GYP in 1961 and N4565L in 1983. Flown to Ipswich in 1987 for storage and damaged by storms. Transported to the 390th Bomb Group Museum, Framlingham in 1995 then to AeroVenture, Doncaster in 2003.

Part of the 50th Anniversary of the DC-3 celebrations at the International air Tattoo back in 1985. Interesting to note that this DC3 is fitted with undecarriage doors.

Being stripped of paint after being ferried to Ireland from Argentina, where it served as an executive transport. Its former registration was LV-GYP.

This aircraft was built in February 1939 at Santa Monica and delivered to Eastern as NC21744. it passed through several owners before going to Ford, fitted with a VIP interior (claimed to be the most extravagant DC-3 in the world) and flying in Argentina as LY-GYP before being acquired by the Hibernian Dakota Flight in 1984. The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum/Aeroventure then obtained it from the 390th BG Museum at Framlington, Suffolk and plans to restore it as KLM/BOAC DC-3 G-AGBB, which was shot down by a Ju-88 and operated from Doncaster.
