Quite sure this was taken in the spring of 1981, didn't log the date in 1981 and film usuall y stayed in the camera for some time.

Attached to United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) as a communications aircraft, this flight was about to depart to JRS via AKR at a very early time in November. One of a number of CAF aircraft that provided a very efficient and reliable service between the various Capitals in the area at that time.

60 years old and still going strong and looking great. This Buffalo came to Vernon to do some circuits and then left for home base at Comox. The remaining few Buffalo aircraft will very soon be replaced with the new CC-295 and they will certainly not outlast the Buffalo. I was lucky to photograph 452 from my back yard on a dreary day.

The DHC-5 is a rare bird, and this was the highlight for me at the Oregon International Air Show. It looked very much the same when Gerard Helmer photographed it in the early 1980s.
