Delivered in 1955. Scrapped at Wyton in 1992.

Painted to represent the Canberra prototype VN799 for the Canberra 40th anniversary. The correct serial was carried on the nose wheel door. Also, WJ877 was painted in the same scheme for the same event. However, WT478 had the honour of recreating the Canberra first flight on May 13th 1949 with the former English Electric test pilot Roland Beamont (who flew the Canberra first flight) being part of the crew for the 40th anniversary flight.

Two aircraft, WT478 (seen here) and WJ877, were painted in the colours and markings of the Canberra prototype VN799, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the type's first flight on 13 May 1949. The aircraft in this photo is the flying aircraft, WT478 from 231 OCU RAF Wyton. The spare aircraft was WJ877, which was part of the show's static display.
