VH-WEJ had its Cirrus engines replaced by Lycoming O-290s in 1956. Its flying career in Australia ended when aircraft constructed with synthetic resin glues were grounded in 1963. By that time it had been reregistered twice. VH-BOB, as it had become, was trucked about museums until sold in the UK where it is to be restored as G-AKHU.

Exchanged for Tiger Moth components about 1979 with an aircraft restorer at York, Western Australia. In 2007 it was sold in the UK with another airframe and parts of third. VH-BOB registered G-AKHU in 2008 but status of the project unknown

Broadmeadow was Newcastle's airport from 1929 to 1963. The proximity of houses and other limitations led to its closure and the resident aero club relocated to Maitland 30km away. Broadmeadow is now the site of sports grounds. Photographer's name is not known.

VH-WEJ was reengined with Lycoming engines in 1956. Reregistered VH-WEK in 1960. Now on UK register as G-AKHU.
