In the late 1970s and up to the late 1980s advertising balloons such as these were very popular, probably a tax-deductible way to fly. None of these three balloons still fly, G-SAFE on the left, owned by the Derbyshire Building Society and G-NBSI on the right owned by the Nottingham Building Society.
