Delivered new to USN as an A-5A in September 1962. Converted in 1966 to RA-5C configuration. Retired to AMARC in September 1973. Struck off charge June 1976, and in October 1978 transferred to the New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology for explosives testing.

This HH-3F was lost on 18 February 1979 during a medical evacuation from a Japanese fishing vessel in the North Atlantic. Forced to land in heavy seas, waves overturned the helicopter and only one of the five crew survived.

In 1969 the USN began redesignating the USN Reserve A-4B a/c as TA-4B. This TA-4B was struck off charge on 11 September 1970. In service from 1958 through 1970, 142733 had a busy career, having been assigned to VMA-225, VA-34, VA-44, VA-12, VA-106, VA-133, VA-125, VSF-1, VA-95, and finally Naval Air Reserve Training Unit New Orleans.

This A-4B was assigned to the Naval Air Reserve Training Unit at NAS New Orleans. It wasn't on display at the airshow but was close enough to photograph. Note it is in maintenance, with the tailpipe partially out and a large fuselage panel removed. It eventually was converted into an A-4Q for the Argentine Navy as s/n 0657. It is currently on display at the Argentine Navy Headquarters in Buenas Aires.

This A-4B was assigned to the Naval Air Reserve Training Unit at NAS New Orleans, LA. It was not technically on display at the airshow, but one had to walk by it to get to the flightline. It was redesignated a TA-4B later in 1969. SOC 3 August 1970 and assigned to NAS China Lake for use on the test range.

This A-7A was lost over the Gulf of Tonkin due to engine failure on 15 November 1969. The pilot had a successful ejection and was rescued by a USN helicopter.

This P-38L 43-50281 was one of 113 P-38L a/c built under contract by Consolidated-Vultee in Nashville, TN. On 19 October 1974 this a/c was destroyed in a crash and the pilot killed when an engine failed while landing in Lafayette, LA.

Although still wearing the Cornell Aeronautical Laboratories logo, N700A was owned by Bill Fornof when the slide was taken. He had purchased the aircraft earlier in 1969. Mr. Fornof, in fact, used this aircraft for his airshow performance on the date the slide was taken. N700A was built in 1950 as a Grumman owned and operated civilian G-58, and never saw USN service. It was sold to Cornell in 1959, who sold it to Mr. Fornof in 1969.
