Part of the Fleet Air Arm Historic Flight, VH-NVX was built as an S-2E but upgraded to an S-2G before it was delivered to the Australian Navy in 1977. Joined the historic flight in 1985.

VH-NEA was imported in 1985 from the US, where it was N56534.

VH-HET was registered in December 1985 after being restored by Col Pay, of Scone. It is now a flying exhibit at the Temora Aviation Museum. The Spitfire arrived in Australia too late for war service. It was passed to a technical school as an instructional airframe and then acquired by Sid Marshall. With warbirds effectively barred by authorities, Marshall retained it as an exhibit at his museum at Bankstown. Pay bought it in 1982 after restrictions on warbirds were lifted.

VH-HCJ wears the chrome yellow and blue makings of the 1930s US Army Air Corps. It was however built after this scheme was dropped. The code "127" relates to the US civil registration N127H it wore before coming to Australia and not to its military service. -HCJ was registered in Australia in April 1987.

Withdrawn from use. Handed over to a government scientific establishment for use in electromagnetic experiments.
