VH-HET was registered in December 1985 after being restored by Col Pay, of Scone. It is now a flying exhibit at the Temora Aviation Museum. The Spitfire arrived in Australia too late for war service. It was passed to a technical school as an instructional airframe and then acquired by Sid Marshall. With warbirds effectively barred by authorities, Marshall retained it as an exhibit at his museum at Bankstown. Pay bought it in 1982 after restrictions on warbirds were lifted.

The code "127" relates to the US civil registration N127H it wore before coming to Australia and not to its military service. -HCJ was registered in Australia in April 1987.
