The prototype of German biplane float fighter was completed in 1916. Finnish White Army bought one from Germany in February 1918. It arrived in Finland in May 1918. That Rumpler crashed at the end of 1919. Another Rumpler was bought from Germans in Tallinn at the end of 1918. That aircraft was used in Finnish Air Force until 1925. The Rumpler 6B-2 was a single-seat floatplane fighter derived from the two-seat Rumpler C.IV landplane. The earlier 6B-1 was based on the Rumpler C.I. This example, German navy serial 1040, was interned by the neutral Dutch near Westkapelle, Zeeland on 29 May 1917. They liked it enough to ship it to the Netherlands East Indies in 1918, and it made its first flight here in April 1919. The Rumpler C.IV was a main German reconnaisance aircraft of the Great War. This original example is preserved at the Deutsches Museum in downtown Munich.
