Built in 1931 for American Airways. Converted to a freighter in 1934 and flown in Alaska since 1936, one of only ten built, the aircraft flew with several operators, initially flying mail and freight for Alaska Air Express. Ball Brothers were the final operators buying the aircraft in December 1977 to haul fish, principally out of Bristol Bay and Southeast Alaska. Out of use by 1985, the aircraft was acquired by the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum in 2001. It has subsequently been fully restored and is kept in potentially airworthy condition.

Very rare type, the Pilgrim was built in 1931 and was recently restored and now displayed in the Alaska Aviation Museum. This aircraft is on the National Register of Historic Places. Only two aircraft appear on this registry
