What an extremely rare catch!! A civilian Robinson R66 at La Balbina Army Brigade. I couldn't believe that that this special visitor ended up landing at 8534 ft and on a military heliport. Being prepared for a flight to Ambato (SEAM) after flying from some helipad in Santo Domingo that same morning. This same chopper suffered a crash on August 29, 2020 at Manta during an engine test but it was repaired. Special thanks to everyone involved on this special "express" spotting.

Out of its hangar for the first time in several years, now we can see its beautiful color scheme. Soon it will be sent to the US for a complete overhaul alongside other 4 Mi-17.

Landing after a maintenance flight with some touch & go approaches at La Balbina. Without a doubt a great and beautiful helicopter, and the only one that keeps flying with this lizard camouflage. My first time to see it flying, just gorgeous!!

In the entrance to the BAE 15 Paquisha also known as "La Balbina" is this SA342L Gazelle of the Ecuadorian army preserved. Next to this one there's also a SA315B Lama. Special thanks to Antonio Espinel and the people of the AEE for this opportunity.
