For the second time, FlySafair seen at Latacunga. OMD350 landing back at Cotopaxi Intl. after a test flight and refueling at Guayaquil. Once again, our good friends from Nomadic, Steve Giordano and Bob Allen, on the controls, nailing the landing. They also did an awesome low pass and wing wave while departing on this same test flight earlier that day. Congratulations to DIAF for their great job on the C-check and paint on this one that will be back to South Africa very soon as ZS-ZWG. Also, thanks a lot to their staff and Steve and Bob for their kindness and good vibes!!

This one made me arrive 1 hour late to my institute, but it was totally worth it. One of the rarest and most beautiful catch of the year, for the first time here, Air Class' B727 rocketing out of UIO on its way to BOG as QLC4564. It came all the way from Uruguay, making some several-days stopovers at EZE, SCL, and LIM between November 6th and 11th. After BOG, this B727 flew to SJO, then back to its base at MVD via LIM. Ex- N4555E, USAir N773AL & N763US, ATA Airlines & Astar Air Cargo N763AT, Rio Linhas Aéreas & Sideral Air Cargo PR-IOB.

For the first time, a Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner has landed in Ecuador, and now all the variants of the B787 have arrived at least once in our country. I don't really know the reason why KLM decided to bring the B78X instead of the regular B772, but it sure has its background since for more than a year the Dutch airline has the B787-10 as part of its flight permit in Ecuador. Here, KLM 755 from Amsterdam on short final to runway 36.

What a RARE catch!! I can't believe that we managed to see such a livery here in Ecuador and even more in Latacunga's Airport. Arriving as OMD277 all the way from Johannesburg with stopovers at Windhoek and Recife. This guy is the second B737NG to have maintenance and paint at DIAF's facilities, this too will be part of FlySafair fleet later. Ex Comair ZS-ZWG. Special thanks to Mathias Moya, DIAF's staff, pilots Steve and Bob who were very kind to us. This picture also goes to my good friend and spotter Stefano Rota on his birthday!!

Even though it was pouring rain and I ended up with my clothes were totally soaked, it was worth it. This is the end of the ATR era for Tame. This was the last ATR-42 of the old Ecuadorian airline that was still in the country and that day it was taken to Medellín as N849AV for its new owner. The beautiful "Baby Rocket" spending a cold and rainy night in Quito after it tried to depart earlier for Panama City, but it had to return to the cargo apron due to an engine #3 problem that, as you can see, they were working on when I took the picture. LATAM is displaying the colors of the national flags of the countries where its subsidiaries operate, such as Brazil, Colombia, Perú, Chile and of course, Ecuador. Here Ecuador flag is featured on A319 HC-CPR. Being towed to its hangar after its ferry flight from São Carlos, Brazil (SDSC) where it recieved paint. Ex CC-CYE (OneWorld livery).

A really RARE sight at Latacunga. The first ever B738NG to have maintenance at the DIAF of LTX landing after a test flight to Guayaquil, just days before delivery to its new customer, FlySafair, just as I guessed it. After operating for Flair in Canada, it was ferried CYLS-KDTW-SELT from February 23rd to 24th, and the DIAF did an excellent job on this one. Soon we will have more B737NGs at Latacunga!! This one would likely become ZS-FGN. Ex Air China B-5510, CMB Financial Leasing EI-GGW, Primera Air Scandinavia OY-PSJ, CMB Financial Leasing 2-YPSJ, Flair Airlines C-FFLA and N105TS.

Bahamasair at Quito?? No, it's the newest unexpected member for Aeroregional that will transport ecuadorian soccer teams abroad, since HC-CYA will not do this. Here, future HC-CZD is landing at runway 36 after its ferry flight from Nassau (MYNN) under a heavy rain at SEQM. You can still clearly see the Bahamasair titles and logo on the fuselage and tail. Flight operated by Global Reach LLC and registered with CSDS Aircraft Sales and Leasing. Ex Malaysia Airlines 9M-MFC, Air France F-GJNL, Aerolíneas Argentinas LV-BAX and Bahamasair C6-BFD.
