In the company of F-104DJ 4595 / 36-5017, overlooking Shuili River where it mouths into the Zhuoshui River. Problems encountered in preserving the pair at this location led to the jets being disassembled in January 2017 and trucked to the China University of Science and Technology Yun Lin Campus. They were put on dispay there, 9km (5.5mi) south of the main campus, in a park along Formosa Freeway 3 in Gukeng Township.

Sole survivor of five ex JASDF F-104DJs that Taiwan obtained in Summer 1987. After storage in a Hualien mountain cave around the turn of the century, it was put on display 275m (900ft) to the northeast of this location initially, on the north bank of the Shuili River just east of the Route 16 bridge. Moved to the shown spot not long before the photo date, alongside F-5 5220 / 60490. In 2017, both were again moved, to Gukeng Township. The USAF-style data block gave the type as 'F-104/MAP' and the name is said to mean as much as 'Climb cloud no. 1'.

First seen on display here in 2004 and later joined by F-104DJ 4595 / 36-5017. Preservation problems, already quite obvious here, led to it being disassembled in January 2017 and moved to Gukeng Township, together with its neighbour.
