This early serial number Bell 429 (msn 57009) was built in Mirabel, Quebec and test flown as C-GFNN before being exported to the US and registered to Bell as N429NA for useably the Bell Training Academy to train new customer pilots in Texas. The Training Academy returned to its former location at the Bell headquarters Fort Worth (Hurst) Texas in August 2015 after Bell moved its Customer Center and Customer Training Academy into former Gulfstream facilities at Fort Worth Alliance Airport. The Academy provides pilot and maintenance training for most Bell commercial helicopter models.

The first XV-3. Photo date given as 14 October 1955 by the Dutch source but Wikipedia suggests the aircraft did not fly between August 1955 and late March 1956 due to a hard landing. 54-147 was damaged beyond repair on 25 October 1956 when it shaked so badly that the pilot blacked out.
