Became N6186Y with US Customs after service. Acquired by the museum in 2014-2015.

Originally built as a UH-1D-BF, taken up by the Army in November 1967. Served in Vietnam from March 1969 to March 1971, almost entirely with Company B, 227th Assault Helicopter Battalion (whose marking is on the port cabin door), 1st Cavalry Division, (the latter's marking worn on her tail). The display sign calls our attention to "numerous bullet holes," which attest to her combat service.

Originally built as an AH-1G-BF, taken up by the Army in January 1968. Served 2 tours in Vietnam, and was damaged in combat on two separate occasions-first on 16 March 1969 while with the 611th Transportation Company, and the second on 26 April 1970, while with the 114th Assault Helicopter Company.

Displayed in the markings of her final unit assignment with the 121st TFW, just down the road at Rickenbacker ANGB, where she served from 1986 until 1992. Reportedly displayed at the base itself prior to coming to the Motts Museum.

Now looking much better than when I saw her in 2015. Marked up as a D-Day C-47, she was originally built for the USAAF as TC-47B-35-DK s/n 44-76884, transferred to the US Navy as R4D-7 BuNo 99838. The real 42-100558 went to Uruguay, is now preserved there as 510, and can be seen elsewhere on this site.

To the civil registry at an unknown date, becoming N7073C, N30, N87814, N2004J, N212GB, and finally N2312G. From October 1993 to July 2008, displayed at the 101st Foxhole Club restaurant at KBNA. Moved to OPN in Thomaston, GA in July 2008, then to 3FK in Franklin, IN, before ending up here at Motts circa 2014. Has since been undergoing restoration for static display.
