Finally I got to see this common sight in the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador. Under a heavy rain that welcomed us after our flight from Quito, this beauitful Pilatus from the oil national company Petroecuador arrives from Lago Agrio (SENL). Named "Río Coca". Test registration with Pilatus: HB-FNP.

Seen wearing Petroecuador labels and the new logo. A few years later the labels were changed to Petroamazonas. Former registration PT-SKF.

Purchased by the Ecuadorian government to replace the Fairchild F-27s. This planes are used to transport Petroecuador workers to and from the different destinations where there are Petroecuador bases: Lago Agrio, El Coca, Esmeraldas.

One of two Fairchilds that were "absorbed" by the government oil company. This was retired from use once the Embraer 135 was purchased. It was later taken to Latacunga's airport and is now used to train aircraft mechanics at the Army Superior Polytechnic School (ESPE) campus in Latacunga.
