Landing at Zanzibar after flight from Dar es Salaam. Sadly, planned schedules never really got started and the aircraft rarely flew after this. It remained abandoned at ZNZ and is still present in a derelict condition in a compound at the northern end of the airfield in 2023.

Seen looking very smart soon after its arrival from South Africa for operation by Indigo Aviation. The company which also owned another DC3 5H-DAK, had plans to operate both scheduled flights and hunting charters within Tanzania but the Tanzanian CAA had other ideas and the company had its operating license withdrawn in July 2010. ZS-LVR did make it onto the Tanzanian register as 5H-LVR but never entered service. It was flown to Dar es Salaam in 2011 and has remained grounded there, still present in May 2021

A trip to Tanzania, to fly the Indigo Aviation DC-3. But they never really started operating their two DC-3s between Zanzibar and the mainland. I was only able to make some distant photos of the two aircraft. This one was taken from a Cessna 208 taking off from Zanzibar en route to Dar es Salaam. The airplane was not visible from the terminal, but was parked infront of a hangar along the main runway of the airport.
