Delivered to Smiths Aviation Division at Staverton as G-ASJT in 1963. Transferred to the Ministry of Defence as XW750 in 1970 and served initially with the BLEU at Bedford and later at Thurleigh and Boscombe Down. Between 1970 and its withdrawal in 2007 the aircraft made significant contributions to many ground breaking research programmes. It was sold and registered as N748D in 2008 and made its last flight to Southend before being scrapped there in 2009.

ex. 43-48552, KJ874.( R.A.F. units: 108 OTU,271 Sqd,77 Sqd. ) Loaned to Smiths by the M.O.S. in 1953. It was used on a ministry contract to develop a version of SEP2 (mk 10) Autopilot. Broken up for spares in March 1964.

Built in 1963 and from 1970 to 2007 it served with the Ministry of Defense as XW750. Scrapped at Southend (EGMC) as N748D in November 2009. The hard, smooth turf here was appreciated by aircraft and humans alike, as can be seen from the boy on the far right with a cricket bat. Happy days!
